GOD'S TEMPLE
Just imagine that you are given a very expensive gold necklace and earring set from your parents. I can assure you that you wouldn't leave it lying recklessly, or just anyhow on the floor, neither would you place it where it can be stolen or roughly handled by anyone.
Personally, I would have a box or bag specially for that necklace and earring set, and I would ensure that no one else has access to it, and of course, I would use it on very special occasions.
Do you know that the same is expected of us from God concerning our bodies?
Recall what the Bible says in 3 John 1:2.
"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."
As much as we are confident in the promise of divine health from God to us as believers (which is one of our rights in Christ), we have a role to play in making it a reality.
One of the best ways we can ensure that this happens is by eating healthily. Eating healthily is not synonymous to eating expensively. Taking simple measures like eating fruits at least once in a week, and staying away from junks as much as possible would help us live healthy lives, especially as students.
"Eating healthily is not synonymous to eating expensively."
From the Bible, it is evident that our eating habits can be seen from our physical looks, especially our skin (Daniel 1:5-16). Our bodies are God's temple, and we have to value it as a response in appreciation to Him.
So, make deliberate efforts to eat rightly from today. Try as much as possible to have at least three sources of nutrients from the six classes of food in your diet from today. Don't give sickness room in your body. You are bought with a price; you are priceless.
